OAKLAND — Isabel Culver scored on a penalty corner with 1:42 remaining in the game to give Messalonskee a 3-2 win over Mt. Blue in Class A North field hockey action Saturday morning.

Freshmen Zoey Gilbert and Alexa Caccamo also scored for the Eagles (3-0) while Nealey Dillon made four saves. Gilbert also had an assist.

Sophomores Summer Sawyer and Abriana Griffin scored for the Cougars (1-3).

 

LAWRENCE 8, MORSE 0: Maddie Niles had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Bulldogs (4-0) to a win over the Shipbuilders (1-4) in Fairfield.

Ali Higgins had a goal and three assists, while Hope Bouchard added a score for Lawrence.

LISBON 2, OAK HILL 0: Two second half goals propelled the Greyhounds in a Route 9 rivalry game in Wales.

Laura Mockler scored in the third quarter with Maddy Tuplin setting the goal up for Lisbon (3-1). Kayla Cooper scored in the fourth quarter with Reesa Theriault-Guay notching the helper. Maria Levesque made five saves for the shutout.

Sierra Lane kept Oak Hill (1-4) in the game making 18 saves in the losing effort.

RICHMOND 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Eden Balduf scored the game-winning goal 19 seconds into overtime to lift the Bobcats to the win in Hiram.

Breonna Dufresne assisted the goal. Sophie Wells had the other goal for the Bobcats (2-1-0) and Autumn Lane made 14 saves.

Elsie Reynolds scored for the Hawks (0-2-0) while Bridget Landry stopped 10 shots in net.

MESSALONSKEE 3, LEWISTON 0: The Eagles won in straight sets winning 25-12, 25-11 and 25-19 in Oakland.

Candace Pelotte had an all-around game for Messalonskee (2-1) with four aces, seven kills and eight digs. Elise McDonald was also outstanding in the win, with 18 assists, six aces, three digs, and one kill.

Kaitlyn Shannon had two kills and two digs for Lewiston (1-3) while Kassy Cornejo had three assists, two digs and an ace. Amino Jumo had a kill and a block in the loss.

Messalonskee defeated Lewiston in junior varsity action winning 25-20, 25-12, and 15-11.
