David D. Lajoie

AUGUSTA – David D. Lajoie, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, following a long illness.

He was born in Augusta on April 7, 1942, a son of the late Francois A. and Cecilia A. (Roussell) Lajoie. Mr. Lajoie was a graduate of Cony High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Mr. Lajoie had been employed for many years as a school bus driver in Augusta.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol E. (Covington) Lajoie; and a sister, Linda Danforth.

Mr. Lajoie is survived by his son, Frank A. Lajoie of Maryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Susan Schneider of Augusta, Carlene McNaughton of Augusta and Celeste Lajoie of Gardiner; two grandchildren, Diana and William Lajoie; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A private service will be held at a later date.
