Lois M. Dunstan

AUGUSTA – Lois M. Dunstan, 95, a resident of MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care at Glenridge in Augusta, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022.

She was born Feb. 1, 1927 in Randolph, N.Y., a daughter of Forest and Pearl Wilcox Chadwick.

She was a 1945 graduate of Gowanda Central School, Gowanda, N.Y. On July 16, 1945, she married the Rev. William A. Dunstan in Maine, who predeceased her on July 1, 2018. She lived her entire married life in Maine, first in Oxford and later in Gardiner and Randolph.

She was very active in the churches which her husband pastored, especially in children’s choirs and women’s organizations. For many years she was employed in the office of the American Baptist Churches of Maine in Augusta. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework and gifting them to family and friends.

Surviving are two brothers, Forest Jr., and Robert Chadwick, both of New York State, one sister, Shirley Robbins of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gardiner First Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., burial will be in Little Valley, N.Y.
