Darrell Robert Weymouth

PITTSTON – Darrell Robert Weymouth, 78, of Pittston, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sept. 9, 2022 at his home with his wife Diana by his side.

Darrell was born in Gardiner on Feb. 7, 1944. He was the son of the late Robert Weymouth and Fern (Blodgett) Weymouth Dutton. He grew up in Pittston and was educated in the Gardiner school system.

Throughout his lifetime and before retiring Darrell worked doing plumbing and heating. He held a Masters license and his career in this industry spanned over 50 years. He was the owner and operator of Darrell’s Plumbing and Heating.

Darrell married Diana (St. Pierre) Weymouth on Jan. 18, 1964. They were married for over 58 years. He never called Diana by her name, it was always “honey “or “dear.” Together they raised four children. He was proud that they instilled values of respect, honesty, motivation, responsibility, hard work and love. Darrell loved his life with Diana, they worked endless hours in their vegetable gardens, and shared their harvest with family and friends. They shared their love of animals, and for a time, they created a home for injured and young wildlife that were in need of rehabilitation.

Darrell, also known as Grandpa was an avid outdoorsman. As a member of the Lucky Point Club, he made countless trips to Spencer Bay on Moosehead Lake, where he spent quality time with family and friends, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.

Darrell had many hobbies, he soared the sky in his paraplane, he built his own saw mill with which he milled the lumber for each of his children’s first homes and many other projects, he made evergreen wreaths during the holidays, and enjoyed driving his four-wheeler on the property where he maintained his orchards of apples, peaches, pears and plums. His favorite past time of all was creating and taking care of his fish filled man-made ponds he dug himself. His first pond was created for his wife and children to swim in and it is still used today by the family. He also loved and enjoyed going to hear his son, Walter, sing and play guitar.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Diana; sister, Shelia (Weymouth) Jarochym; four children, James Weymouth partner Amy, Walter Weymouth wife Jan, Priscilla (Weymouth) Kelley husband Jay, and Dana Weymouth; grandchildren Chad, Katie husband Brian, James wife Emily, Kittyanne husband Nick, Kashley husband Ryan, Leah partner Ethan, Wyatt, Wylie, Ben wife Mariah, Elizabeth husband Klayton, Austin and Mason; great-grandchildren Colton and Alex, Darrell and Derrek, Timber and Crew, Johnny, Everett and Sam, Addison and Calum; as well as extended family; and his beloved dog, Sally.
