Bobby Jones Jr.

LITCHFIELD – Bobby Jones Jr. of Litchfield, formerly of Gardiner, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at home.

Bobby was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Jan. 28, 1961, the son of William Bobby Jones and Carrie Faye (Morgan) Jones.

He was raised mostly in Ohio, New England, and Tennessee. From there he moved to Florida where he met the mother of his two children. After they were born, they all moved to Maine. He spent a lot of time on the road painting hotels, churches, and homes.

Bobby worked at Bath Iron Works for 34 years as a Preservation Technician, where he helped build Cruisers and Destroyers for the U.S. Navy. He poured his heart and soul into his job; he took an immense amount of pride in everything he did. He was a great mentor, painter, artist, and an extraordinary man.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting,

music, playing video games with his friends and family and he loved science fiction and fantasy films. He was one a kind and a beautiful soul.

Bobby was predeceased by his father and brother Allen “Bill” Jones.

He is survived by his son Dustin Jones and fiancé Jami of Litchfield, daughter Deanna Jones of Augusta, granddaughter Adrien Wood and grandson Xavien Tobias, mother of his children Carole Jones of Farmingdale, mother Faye (Morgan) Jones, sisters Linda Jones-Kimberlin and Rita Jones Ayers, both of Tennessee, brothers William Tracey Jones of Tennessee and Billy Ray Jones of Ohio, along with nieces, nephews and many, many extended family and friends.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Saturday September 24, at noontime, at his son’s house.
