In June, six people set out to row a replica 17th century shallop, the Jane Stevens, from Georgetown to Fort William Henry in Pemaquid.
They traveled across the mouth of the Sagadahoc and out of Boothbay Harbor, with stops at different islands along the way, according to a news release from Vose library.
Historian and historical interpreter Matt Blazek plans to share the story of his recent rowing trip on the Atlantic in this adventure partnership with Maine’s First Ship at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Vose Library, 392 Common Road in Union.
The program is part of the Vose Wednesday Series.
People can learn about the early history of European exploration along the coast of Maine, hear stories from the trip, and see the reenactment gear used on the journey.
