WINTHROP — Paranormal investigator Nomar Slevik plans to give a talk at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Bailey Library at 39 Bowdoin St.
The talk will focus on supposed extraterrestrial sightings and abductions in what are known as “UFO hotspots” around New England.
Slevik is a researcher, writer and podcaster whose work focuses on sharing accounts of UFO and extraterrestrial encounters from everyday people, according to a news release from the library.
As part of the talk Slevik also will read excerpts from one of his new books, “Otherworldly Encounters.” The book uses eyewitness reports to explore the world of UFOs, crop circles, unexplained balls of light, and more.
Slevik was born in Fort Kent and grew up in Bar Harbor.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
