Therese E. Tardiff

AUGUSTA – Therese E. Tardiff, 95, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at St. Mary’s D’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on August 29, 1927, a daughter of the late Jean and Alexandrine (Plante) Gosselin.

Mrs. Tardiff was a graduate of Cony High School and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she volunteered as Lector, Altar Server and Eucharistic Minister.

She had been employed by St. Augustine for several years. She had also worked at Augusta Fuel Company and Pomerleau’s Bakery.

Mrs. Tardiff was a member of St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella and was Past President and Past Secretary for the Ladies of St. Anne Society.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Romeo R. Tardiff; a sister, Rolande Gosselin and two brothers, Laureat “Larry” and Reginald Gosselin.

Mrs. Tardiff is survived by one son, Marc Tardiff and his wife Marie of Chelsea, four daughters. Anne Denning and her husband John of Philadelphia, Pa., Elisabeth Ouellette and her husband Jerry of Vancouver, Wash., Louise Neault and her husband Jerry of Augusta and Denise Ouellette and her husband Tom of Acton, Mass.; two sisters, Lisette Albert of Augusta and Arline Caron and her husband Richard of Bangor; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
