BELGRADE — A day of Halloween-themed activities for families is scheduled for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Camp Bomazeen, 656 Horse Point Road. People can come in costume and join in the games.

The Haunted Woods event is for Cub Scouts and non-Cub Scout families. The cost is $7 per person; walk-ins are welcome, according to a news release from Chuck Mahaleris, district vice chairman for the Kennebec Valley District of Scouting.

All youth are to be accompanied by responsible adults. Only cash will be accepted for the door, pumpkins, hot food and trading post.

Patches can be ordered at the event for $5.

All participants can participate in all the following activities during the day: Sports and games, shooting sports, multiple crafts, decorate pumpkin $5; cooking activity — Monster Mouth; concession stand, trading post, special guests, hayride wagon, and a food and personal care drive of non-perishable and unexpired items.

Registration/check in begin at 10:30 .m., activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the closing ceremony is set for 4:15 p.m. at Parade Field.

The event is subject to change at a moment’s notice.

This is a chemical-free location; people should plan accordingly. Licensed service animals are welcomed; pets are not.
