FARMINGTON, Conn. – Clara Therrien, 83, passed peacefully on Sept.. 6, 2022 at UConn Hospital in Farmington, Conn. Clara was born July 7, 1939 to Alfred and Beatrice Therrien in Skowhegan.

Clara moved to Connecticut in her early 20s and lived there until her passing.

Spending time at the ocean was Clara’s favorite pastime. Each summer in July she spent 4 to 5 days in Ogunquit with family and friends. It brought much joy and peace to her. Clara loved spending time with her family and came to Maine for special occasions and celebrations.

Clara had special memories of spending time with her godchildren Mara Garze and Jeff Hughes.

Clara is survived by sisters Barbara Smith, of Skowhegan, Gloria Hughes, of Oakland, a brother, Richard Therrien, of Skowhegan, and her special sister-in-law, Carol Therrien, of Skowhegan. She also had cousins, nieces and nephews.

Clara was predeceased by her parents; grandmother, Josephine Duplessie; brothers Walter, Ernest, Raymond and sisters Lucille Clement and Blanche Clark.

Clara’s family is forever grateful and thankful that her long-time friend, Katie and family were there to care for her during the many years, and especially during Clara’s last days.

There was a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m., followed by her burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
