Sharon Colleen (Karczewski) Couture

DEBARY, Fla. – Sharon Colleen (Karczewski) Couture, 75, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 with her family by her side.

Sharon was born Oct. 1, 1946 in Augusta to Leo and Colleen (Martin) Karczewski. She was a graduate of Cony High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe, at the tender age of 18. He joined the Navy shortly after and together they traveled the world. Their oldest child, Vicki was born in Morocco. After they settled in Orlando, Fla., where Tommy was born, Sharon became a paraprofessional student educator for 28 years in various schools.

Sharon was an avid reader which began at the age of 5, reading the morning paper. She instilled that love of reading to her family members. She loved to start her day with a swim in her pool. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren and will continue to influence their lives. She never wanted to miss her grandchildren play a sport or participating in a school activity. Her greatest joy in life was being a parent and a grandmother.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Richard Marcel Joseph Couture, of 57 years; her children Vicki (Couture) Hatton, son-in-law Mark Hatton, Thomas Couture, daughter-in-law Peggy (Dolan) Couture; her grandchildren Alyssa Hatton, Rachel Hatton, Cameron Couture and Riley Couture. She is also survived by her two brothers, Scott Karczewski, sister-in-law Janice (Richards) Karczewski, Leo Karczewski, sister-in-law Peggy (Hobbs) Karczewski, her sister, Anne Marie Karczewski, and sister-in-law Liz Resenbrink.

Sharon will be especially remembered for her beautiful smile, her wonderful hugs and her strength that she gave those around her.

Her memorial will be held on Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at Newcomer in Winter Park, Fla.
