Flautist Cris Lansley and pianist Brad Howard will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Trinity Church in Lewiston.
For this program, the duo will perform the music of Charles Callahan (b. 1951), an award-winning composer from Cambridge, Massachusetts. The program will consist of a group of preludes, each one related to a different season of the liturgical calendar. As Lansley tells us: “These movements follow seasons from the church calendar, listen for familiar hymns that reflect the church year.”
The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed.
