AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library is co-sponsoring a candidate meet and greet event with candidates who are running for state Senate District 15 and state House Districts 59 and 60.
The free event is scheduled for 5:30-7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the community room at the 45 Winthrop St. library.
Each candidate will have five minutes to introduce themselves and then will each sit at separate tables, where audience members can visit and ask questions of the candidates, according to a news release from Sarah Schultz-Nielsen, library director.
The event is co-sponsored by the Capital Area Forum Committee, which includes the Gardiner Public Library, the First Amendment Museum, and the League of Women Voters, Capital Area Chapter.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
