MANCHESTER – Carmen Elizabeth Rodrigue, 86, of Manchester died peacefully at her home with her family by her side, Sunday, September 25, 2022.

She was born in Augusta, Maine on April 13, 1936, the daughter of Henry “Ernest” and Kathlyn “Kay” (Davis) Shorey.

She loved her many cats and dogs that she had throughout her life. She had a real passion for collecting old and unique items including but not limited to Lamps, dolls and antique furniture to name just a few. She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed her many hours of conversations with her friends and family. No matter how often you interacted with her she would let you know it wasn’t enough. She will definitely be remembered by all who came in contact with her.

She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Kay; stepmother Thelma Shorey; husband Normand A. Rodrigue; brother Lee Shorey; stepbrother James Safford.

Carmen is survived by her three children, Gail Marie Theberge of Gardiner, Me., R. Annette Cromwell of Hallowell, Me., and Richard D. Rodrigue of Windsor, Me. By her sister Jeannette Sarafin; stepbrother J.D. Holley and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 10th, from 2-4pm, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, at 11 am, followed by burial at 1:00 pm beside her husband at the Maine veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
