John William Kensell

CHELSEA – John William Kensell, 63, of Chelsea, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He enjoyed what he loved to do each morning, having his coffee, and watching Sportscenter on ESPN. His love for working in his workshop and always being there to lend a helping hand for anyone who asked, will be his most memorable moments.

He was born in Gardiner, Maine on November 12, 1958, the son of Gerald and Josephine (Hinckley) Kensell. John grew up in the Gardiner area, attended Gardiner schools, and graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1976. After high school, John began working in the workforce and had several jobs. He was glad when he began working for Pine State Trading Company and retired after 30 years of service. Although retired, John continued to work other jobs. He was employed by Central Maine Pyrotechnics and most recently at Mason’s Pallets for the past five years.

He met the “love of his life”, Angie Kensell, in October of 1992. They were married on August 15th, 1998 and have spent the last 24 years of their lives together. John and Angie raised a blended family together throughout their marriage. John was an avid fan of New England sports and was a diehard Boston Red Sox and Patriots follower. Nothing made John happier than being outside enjoying the woods and sitting by a campfire.

He was predeceased by both his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Angie, his son John II, and his daughter, Cora; his son Jeremy and wife, Lauren, and children, Colton, and Karis; his daughter, Samantha, and her son, William; his daughter, Brittany and husband, Clifton, and children, Clifton, Ryker, Gannon, and Addyson, his daughter, Roberta and her daughter, Ashlyn, his daughter, Ashlee, and her son, Keegan.
