CHELSEA – Mrs. Elizabeth M. (Hall) “Beth” Cousins-Wing, 71, passed away on Saturday Sept. 24, 2022. She is the loving wife of Richard A. “Rick” Wing Jr.

Beth is the daughter of Earl W. Hall and Myrtle (Allen) Hall passed at 71 years or age.

Beth was the matriarch of the family; strong, caring, thoughtful and wise. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with determination. She and was an avid historian who spent countless hours researching and preserving the family history to be passed on to future generations. She also loved reading, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hiking. Elizabeth accomplished many admirable things in her life and was truly an inspiration of what it means to be a strong independent woman. While employed by the State of Maine, Beth served as a Union Steward for 20 years. She served on three of the union Negotiating teams for the State of Maine Executive Branch. She served on the Board of Directors and as the union chapter delegate.

Throughout her 26 years of service with the State Maine, Beth served as a business manager for the Maine DHHS Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program. She also worked for the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles within the Department of the Secretary of State. After retiring from the State of Maine Beth worked for the Baxter State Park Authority. In 2006 she joined the MSEA-SEIU staff as their finance administrator, a position she held for 10 years, until 2016 As a retiree member of the union, she served over the years with Area 2 Retirees Chapter as secretary, delegate and alternate. She also served on the Building Needs Committee.

She will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her, especially her family members including her husband Rick whom she spent the last years of her life with. Beth had three children; David, Melissa, and Chris, four grandchildren; Danielle, Derek, Denvor and Elizabeth, and seven great-grandchildren; Dylan, Dawsun, Daxton, Grayson, Mara, Kiara and Marianna; and a sister Nancy Fish from Ft. Meyers, Fla.

Beth’s visiting hours will be in the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St. Augusta on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 1-2 p.m., with a Prayer service following visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be at a later date in the Hay’s Hall Cemetery, Chelsea.
