The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Oct. 7-9.
The event includes whimsically embellished giant pumpkins, the Pumpkin Parade, entertainment, food, and a river relay regatta, using giant pumpkins as vessels, and complete with costumed contenders at the helm, according to a news release from Suzanne Gandy, event public relations.
The format of the festival remains as in years past, including artists at work, with their pumpkin creature creations that line Main Street all day Friday, Oct. 7; pumpkin art, entertainment, and the 2 p.m. parade Saturday, Oct. 8; and the Regatta finale on noon Sunday, Oct. 9.
The Pumpkinfest, which attracts more than 15,000 visitors each year, has been featured nationally, as as unique and standout event.
Pumpkinfest incorporates Maine-grown agriculture, art, entertainment and water activities, all with a pumpkin theme.
