Charles B. “Beale” Worster

MADISON – On Sunday Sept. 18, 2022, Charles B. “Beale” Worster age 83 of Madison passed away peacefully at his home on Blackwell Hill surrounded by his loving family and friends. Beale was born in Anson Maine on June 24, 1939, the son of the late Charles Dinsmore Worster and Dorothy Beale Worster. He married Moneda “Bunny” Larson Worster on February 22, 1964. Together God blessed them with the honor of being called Mom and Dad to Charles L. “Chuck” Worster and Timothy P. “Tim” Worster. In 2004 we were blessed once again with the honor of being called Nana and Papa to our amazing grandson Trent Timothy Worster. Trent was Papa’s pride and joy, and our family is thankful that Papa was able to attend countless athletic events and other activities that filled Trent’s childhood days. It was an exciting day when Trent was old enough to drive his first big red truck up the driveway to show Papa. They spent many hours discussing all the projects that would make that red truck Trent’s pride and joy. His family was always a source of pride for him, he looked forward to the father sons talks that happened in Papa’s garage. He taught his sons the meaning of hard work and his philosophy was to do your job once, do it right, or don’t do it at all. He was always eager to help the boys when they asked for help on a project in their homes or with their vehicles. He soon learned it was much harder to be the Helper instead of the Boss!

Beale graduated from Madison High School class of 1957. He enlisted in the United States Navy right after high school and was honorably discharged June 17, 1963. After his discharge he entered Southern Maine Technical college and received an associate degree in Machine Tool Technology in 1964. He worked for a while at the Old Point garage in Madison which was owned by the Worster Family. In 1965 he accepted a job on the maintenance crew and worked shift work at International Paper Company in Jay Maine. During his time at Jay, he accepted a job in Maintenance supervision and was part of the team that was responsible for the startup of nine new paper machines. We moved our family to Jay in 1969 and became part of a very loving and caring community for 12 years. In 1981 he accepted a job at Madison Paper Company to once again be part of starting up a new paper machine. We were excited with this new job as we were going back home! He retired from Madison Paper in 2002. Beale followed in his father’s footsteps and became a Mason, and he always wore his dad’s masonic ring with pride. He was a 50 plus year member of the Madison Euclid Lodge #194 AF+AM and became a member of the Kora Shrine in Lewiston ME 1983. During retirement he enjoyed trips to Dunkin Donuts with his friend Joe Pete Labun, and they never missed the tractor and truck pulls during fair season. Memorial Day was always special to him as he drove a convertible with veterans in our local parade for his friend Gary Dyer. For more than forty years our family and friends enjoyed many fishing and bird hunting trips to the camp in the Allagash. Memories of Phil Barbeau and “Sweeney Brook Country Club” will always be special to the Worster Family.

Beale certainly enjoyed our home on the hill, but his garage which holds many memories and well- kept secrets was his “Happy Place”. You could usually find him sitting with his legs crossed, work boots untied and always wearing his well-used suspenders. Our family will be forever grateful for all the hours that his friends Joe Pete Labun and Craig Christopher spent with him in the garage during the past five years. He leaves behind his wife Bunny; son Chuck Worster and wife Cathi; son Tim Worster and son Trent Worster; brother Linwood Worster and wife Roxanne and their children Lisa and Linwood 2nd; cousin Art Worster and wife Lee; and lifelong friend Joe Pete Labun and wife Patty. The family would like to recognize and thank Dr Byung Kim MD, Jessica Douin NP, Elizabeth Teague PA-C and the amazing team of professionals at the Skowhegan Oncology Department. The family would also like to recognize and thank Melissa Michaud PA-C, Brittney, Lisa and the team of amazing professionals at Skowhegan Primary Care. Our family will be forever grateful for your Love, support and compassionate care during Charlie B’s five-year journey with cancer.

A celebration of Life will be held at Beale and Bunny’s home at 202 Blackwell Hill in Madison on Saturday October 8, at 1 p.m. The celebration will be held in a heated tent with tables and chairs. Burial will be on Monday October 10, at 10 a.m., at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison ME
