With no acorns, no beech nuts and no maple seeds, our area is looking at a poor survival situation for deer. Local animals have been eating our kitchen scraps put out for compost. While the wildlife management plan has worked to address overpopulation by increasing the number of antlerless permits, I would suggest going to a harvest system that mimic fishery rules. People can hunt and tag deer until the desired thinning is accomplished for an area.
