Marilyn Marie VonTobel

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Marilyn Marie VonTobel passed away in Zephyrhills, Fla. on Sept. 6, 2022 at the age of 77.

Marilyn was born on Aug. 10, 1945 in Skowhegan to Norma and Stanley Dean. She attended Skowhegan Area High School and then went on to cosmetology school. After moving to Indiana for five years, she returned to her home state of Maine and started her own business, Marilyn’s Beauty Salon. From there she was able to give back to those around her, sometimes by helping strangers with free haircuts to help the community.

Marilyn was passionate about animal welfare and made numerous contributions to the animal foundation. She also loved playing cards with her friends and was a member of the Eagle club for over 30 years. She was an avid reader.

Marilyn is survived by her son, William; brother, Brian Dean and his wife Marcie; nephews Dustin and Lenise Dean with daughter, Lauren; Troy and Kris Dean with sons Cooper, Spencer, Cameron. She was predeceased by her father, C. Stanley Dean and survived by her mother, Norma Dean.

Marilyn is deeply loved and will be missed.

A graveside memorial is scheduled for Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at Southside Cemetery just off Willow Street, officiated by Mark Tanner. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn’s life.
