Waterville Area Habitat for Humanity plans to hold its fall fundraiser, Murder at The Juice Joint, at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
The event will be held at the Waterville Elks Lodge, 76 Industrial St. in Waterville.
With the passing of prohibition and organized crime on the rise, The Juice Joint, a swanky speakeasy run by Rosie Marie, has been jumping. To celebrate its success, Rosie is planning a big party and the public is invited. But someone on the guest list is on another kind of list — a hit list, according to a news release from Peter Phair, Habitat executive director.
There will be hor d’oeuvres, a cash bar, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and prizes. The doors open and cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m., with the mystery starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets, which cost $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10, must be purchased in advance at the Waterville Area Habitat For Humanity ReStore at 24 Silver St. or at watervilleareahfh.org.
For more information or to purchase tickets, call the ReStore at 207-616-0166.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
