MADISON — Nokomis football coach Jake Rogers knows his team still has room improvement, but he also knows it’s in a good spot with the Class C North playoffs looming.
“I like where we’re at,” he said, “but we still have a lot to work on, too.”
Grady Hartsgrove threw three touchdown passes to Madden White as the Warriors (4-3) rolled past Madison/Carrabec 40-0 on Thursday night at Rudman Field.
Hartsgrove and Isaiah Morin also rushed for touchdowns.
“We got a lot of contributions from people,” said Rogers, whose team has won three of its last four games to all but secure a Class C North playoff berth. “Our key guys are older guys, which helps. I feel like the boys are buying in to what we’re trying to do.”
The Warriors close out the regular season on Oct. 22 in Newport against John Bapst. Madison/Carrabec (1-6), which plays in Class D, dropped its sixth straight game since a season-opening victory over Hampden Academy.
Nokomis rebounded from a 27-6 Week 6 loss to Westbrook, in which had five turnovers.
“Right out of the gate (Thursday) I got nervous because we fumbled again,” Rogers said. “But we settled down and then didn’t turn the ball over. We played well; it was a good win.”
The game was moved from Friday night because of the rainy forecast.
