The most important issue facing voters on Nov. 8 should be the continuance of our democracy because many have decided to put their political party above our country. When Republicans on the ballot refuse to say they will accept the verdict of the voters, our form of government is in danger.
What’s going on here is nothing new, the first step of autocrats in bringing down democracy is to attack the validity of the vote.
Those who wish to use the country to enrich themselves and their cronies – and to abuse power to punish their opponents – know that if they can make your vote worthless they will no longer have to be concerned with you or your needs.
It is much easier to hold onto democracy than it is to regain it – just ask the people of Russia.
