Lucille LeClair McCannon

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. – Lucille LeClair McCannon, 77, of Swampscott, Mass., passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at NSMC-Salem Hospital, in the presence of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul F. McCannon, with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage.

Lucille was born in Waterville, Maine, on Nov. 14, 1944, daughter of the late Leo and Laurence (Maheu) LeClair. She was raised and educated in Fairfield, graduating from Lawrence High School then moving to Massachusetts shortly thereafter.

She went on to work as a branch manager for Salem Five Bank, then later on as a Sales Representative for Eastern Bank. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott where she taught CCD for 20 years.

She loved traveling alongside her husband on their countless cruises, vacations throughout Europe and we cannot forget the many years in South Bend, Indiana attending Notre Dame football games. She also enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, gardening, and having weekend dinners with her friends. She was an exemplary cook and enjoyed hosting parties. But what she loved most of all was being surrounded by her loving family. Whether it was devoting her time to her eight grandchildren, or spending Christmas time in Maine, family was always her top priority. Her presence, guidance, and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her loving husband, Paul, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Laurie Silvonic and her husband Joseph of Lynnfield, Lisa Carpi and her husband Thomas of Lynnfield, Tricia Munion and her husband Stephen of Lynnfield; her grandchildren, Megan, Alexandra, Katelyn, Gabrielle, Payton, Cameron, Addison, and Stephanie; her siblings, Geraldine Shirley and the late Willard Shirely, Leona Moses and her husband Leo, Lorette Martin and her husband Joseph, Louise Grenier and her husband Larry, Richard LeClair and his wife Linda, and MANY nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, from 4-8 p.m., at the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St.(Rt 1A) Lynn. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 21, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott.
