Mary Frances St. Pierre

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mary Frances St. Pierre, 97, found her peace on Oct. 17, 2022, after a valiant battle with complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born to William and Emma Powell on Dec. 14, 1924, in Waterville, Maine. She graduated from Waterville High School and immediately began a career in banking. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” St. Pierre, in 1944 and they enjoyed 62 years together until his passing in 2007. Together, they were the parents of Linda Nusz and John St. Pierre and defined what it means to unconditionally love.

Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Emma Powell, her sisters, Sally Wells and Alice Flagg, and her husband, Robert St. Pierre. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy St. Pierre of Waterville, Maine, her daughter, Linda Nusz and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, her son, John St. Pierre, and wife Kelly of Edmond and numerous beloved nieces and nephews across the country that all shared a special place in her heart.

Mary was blessed to have one granddaughter, Libby Nusz, who was the absolute joy of her life, and one could even call her Mary’s best friend forever. She also was a loving grandmother to Barry Prater and wife Tonya of McLoud, Oklahoma and Zachary Motley of Tushka, Oklahoma. She had five great-grandchildren that absolutely adored her and treasured every moment with her: Dakota Prater, Ashley Motley, Zaleigh Prater, Destini Prater, and Talia Prater.

During their retirement years, Mary and Bob enjoyed traveling to Florida, California and back to their true home state, Maine. Mary was a devoted friend to many, an excellent seamstress and loved to bake for her family and friends. Her “whoopie pie” recipe has been copied by many; however, nobody has been able to make whoopie pies that tasted as good. Mary enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan – especially Oklahoma State University Football and Basketball. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Charles Borromeo Church for decades.

To honor Mary’s wishes, the family will not be holding services. The family simply asks you “be kind” to one another to honor her for a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be sent to:

Alzheimer’s Association,

Catholic Charities USA,

National Eating Disorder Association or

Autism Speaks
