EXETER – Judith Leavitt, 79, died Oct. 24, 2022 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born March 18, 1943 in Augusta, a daughter of John and Gladys (Glidden) Grotton.

She graduated from Unity High School and the Non Commisioned Officer School. She was a training manager at the Maine Air National Guard Base in Bangor retiring in 1993 after 20 years of service.

She enjoyed gardening, her pets, feeding the birds, and long conversations with her husband and soulmate Herbert. She made him very happy.

In addition to her husband Herbert Leavitt, Sr. of Exeter, she is survived by a son, Terry and wife Lisa of South Carolina, a daughter Tracy and Randall of Kentucky, five stepchildren; several surviving brothers and sisters; a granddaughter Rachel DeLorme of South Carolina; and a close niece, Cindy Riley of China.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be held at the Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth, at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
