The cemetery committee of St. Michael Parish in Augusta reminds parishioners and visiting families that the final cemetery clean-up of 2022 will take place the week of Oct. 31, according to a news release from David Madore, committee chairman.

In Augusta:
• St. Augustine, 61-65 Townsend Road;
• Holy Family, 139 Townsend Road; and
• St. Mary’s (old), 142 Winthrop St.

In Gardiner:
• St. Joseph’s (new), 46 Deane St.; and
• St. Joseph’s (old), 31 Plummer St.

In Manchester:
• St. Mary’s (Pelton Hill), 605 Western Ave.

In Whitefield:
• St. Denis, 298 Grand Army Road; and
• Calvary (St. Denis New), 300 Grand Army Road.

People should remove all decorations, flower containers, real and artificial flowers, and any other items. Objects left in the cemetery after Sunday, Oct. 30 will be removed and disposed of. Only concrete urns are allowed to remain on cemetery lots, but they should be emptied and turned over to prevent breaking.

Beginning in early December, all parish cemeteries will close for the season. Evergreen baskets and wreaths on wire easels no taller than 24 inches are acceptable decorations. Christmas trees, breakable statues and ornaments, toys, lawn and garden decorations, open flame candles and all types of solar lights are not allowed.

The parish reserves the right to remove and dispose of any memorial/decoration that is unsightly, damaged, or violates guidelines without notice to easement holder.
