June C. Jillson

EAST MADISON – It is with great sadness that the family of June C. Jillson announce her passing on Oct. 20, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She passed peacefully at her home in East Madison where she lived for 64 years.

June was the daughter of Ethel (Dulac) and Roland Corson of Skowhegan. She was born on Sept. 1, 1931. She graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1949. She married the love of her life Charles D. Jillson on March 7, 1952 and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

June enjoyed reading, shopping, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. She also loved traveling. She was blessed to have traveled to many places such as: many parts of the US and Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Bangkok and China where she walked the Great Wall. Her favorite trips were to Alaska and she often spoke of going back one day.

She was a member of Eastern Star, East Madison Fire Dept. Auxiliary and East Madison Historical Association where she was well known for her dynamites and baked goodies.

June is survived by her husband Charles; her son Peter (wife Elaine), her daughters Victoria and Stephanie “Taffy” (Glen Breingan); grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Sarah (husband Bryan), Lucas, Lilah, Eric, Charly and Samantha; great-grandchildren Joshua, Gabe, Karly, Jamerson, Jillian and Alexander. She loved animals and leaves behind two pups Lucy and Mickey.

She was predeceased by her parents; her siblings, Fred, Althea, Mildred, Thurl, Minnie and Gilda; and her son Paul whom she missed greatly these past 10 years.

The family sends out a special Thank you to her hospice nurse, home health aides and to the SCU staff at RFGH. A graveside service will be held later in the spring.

Arrangements have been made by Dan and Scott’s Cremation service.

June loved her community and was a very giving person who was always donating to various charities.

In lieu of flowers, her wishes would be that donations be made to a charity of your choice
