Mary Jane Auns is running for the Winthrop Library Board. Although not a resident of Winthrop, I have visited the Bailey Library many times and am impressed by its expansive addition and overall quality of services offered to patrons. Monthly there is a display about not banning books, an important stance that is already maintained by library personnel and board. It would seem the residents of Winthrop will be interested in electing a board member who has already proven herself to be an indispensable asset to the library.

Mary Jane, along with Liz Sienko, co-chaired the the trustees’ committee working on the expansion. The two of them wrote all the grants for which the library applied and brought in over $400,000 grant money toward the building of the addition. I hope Winthrop voters will elect Mary Jane Auns, a proven tireless worker for Bailey. Experience counts.
