Have you already, or will you, vote in Tuesday’s election?

A number of key races and questions will be decided in the election on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Among the top-ticket races is the contest for Maine governor between Gov. Janet Mills, a Democrat, and former Gov. Paul LePage, a Republican.

There are also key races for the U.S. House of Representatives, which could shift the balance of power in the nation’s capital. In Maine, U.S. Rep. Jared Golden, a Democrat, is seeking re-election to serve Maine’s 2nd Congressional District. Golden is challenged by former congressman Bruce Poliquin, a Republican, and independent Tiffany Bond. In the race for Maine’s 1st Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, a Democrat, is challenged by Republican Ed Thelander.

There are also legislative races on the ballot for state House and Senate seats. Some communities will also have local races or questions, such as those for town council or school board, or questions on local ordinances or policies.

But what to do you think? Have you already voted by absentee ballot, or do you plan to vote at the polls on Tuesday? If so, what are the races or issues that are driving you to vote? Tell us what you think in the poll and explain in the comments below what election races or issues are important to you.
