Barbara Tribou

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Barbara Tribou passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter by her side at her home in Englewood, Fla. on Oct. 31, 2022.

Barbara was born on July 5, 1952 to Phillip and Marjorie Tribou in Augusta, Maine. Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Cony High School. She then graduated from University of Maine Orono in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and went on to receive her MBA at Thomas College in 1988.

Barbara was employed with Key Bank after graduating UMO and later she was employed with the State of Maine as an auditor for many years before moving to Raleigh, N.C. Barbara then worked for the North Carolina Rural Center for 14 years as their fiscal analyst. Barbara and her husband moved to Englewood once they both retired.

Barbara had many hobbies that included being an avid reader, dancing, music and playing cards. She enjoyed a good laugh with friends and family. She volunteered with the West Gardiner Fire Auxiliary and spent countless hours volunteering with the Maine Women’s Lobby, an organization that was near and dear to her heart.

Barbara is survived by her husband, David Toothaker of Englewood Fla.; her brother, John Tribou (Ruth) of Tijeras, N.M. and their children Kim, Greg (Erlinda) and Tim; her daughter, Megan Tsai (Jeff) of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. and their children Evan and Camden; her stepdaughters, Denise Williams and partner Scott LaChance of Lewiston, and her children Justin and Ryan, Darcy Needham (Brian) of Yarmouth, and their daughter Ally.

Barbara always enjoyed a good time. So, in honor of her, a celebration of life will be held in Englewood, Fla. later this winter and another in Maine this summer with locations, dates, and times to be determined.
