DETROIT – Patricia (Weeks) Humphrey, 80, died Nov. 1, 2022 at a Skowhegan nursing home. She was born Sept, 28, 1942 in Newport, a daughter of Iva Weeks Emery and Malcolm Weeks and Ernest Emery.

She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1960 and worked for H.P. Hood and Sons in Newport for five years, then moved to New York City.

She worked at Columbia University as a bookkeeper and travel agent, attended Suffolk Community College, moving to Smithtown, Long Island where her son Clinton Hurlburt was born. In 1968 Pat moved back to Newport and went to work for the Lehr Insurance Agency in Pittsfield earning her insurance agents and real estate licenses. After 40 years at the Lehr Agency she retired in 2008.

In 1974 she married Richard Humphrey and they made their home in Detroit. She and Dick had a wonderful life together, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and time at their coastal property in Gouldsboro. Pat also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, line dancing, Zumba, walking, exercising, feeding and watching birds and working in her flower gardens.

In addition to her loving husband, she leaves her son Clinton and his significant other Sara Brooks of Burnham; a granddaughter Heather Hurlburt of Japan; sister Caroline Price of Newport, sister Joyce MacLaggan of Detroit, brother-in-law Floyd and wife Rowena Humphrey of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by her mother Iva Emery, stepfather Ernest Emery and father Malcolm Weeks.

At Pat’s request there will be no funeral. Interment will be in the Detroit Village Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at http://www.CrosbyNeal.com.
