AUGUSTA – Richard D. Obery, 87, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at the Alfond Cancer Center, Augusta. He was born in Augusta, on June 12, 1935 a son of the late Thomas J. and Marguerite (McBean) Obery.
Mr. Obery was a graduate of Cony High School, attended Colby Colllege and was a US Army veteran.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church where he served as Usher and Collection at Mass for many years.
Mr. Obery had been employed for many years at the Internal Revenue Service.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers: Thomas and Alfred Obery.
Mr. Obery is survived by a brother, David Obery of Augusta.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. A private burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manchester.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
