Patricia “Betty” Graf Runnells

CANAAN – Patricia “Betty” Graf Runnells left the bonds of this earth to begin eternal life with the Lord Jesus on Nov. 4, 2022 having been blessed with a rich and happy life for 90 years.

Patricia was always delighted when people dropped in for a visit. She particularly enjoyed her monthly reunion gatherings of Skowhegan High School Class of ’51. She cherished sitting in her chair at camp, with the sun shining on her face, and looking out on Sibley Pond. She loved to hear the soulful sounds of the loons. She was a very talented seamstress, loved refinishing furniture but loved gardening most of all. She was happiest, homemaking and taking care of her family.

Patricia was a member of several loving Church families in her life: Church of Faith in Skowhegan Maine, Stuarts Draft Full Gospel Church in Stuarts Draft, Va., Corner Stone Fellowship in Cobbs Creek, Va., and Centenary United Methodist Church in Skowhegan (on the island).

We give our heartfelt thanks to all the special caring family and friends that were involved in her personal care and comfort.

Patricia was predeceased by her daughter, Diane. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years Roland (Pete) Runnells; her daughter Benita (Benie) Shoemaker (Tom); her sons Scott Runnells (Mary), and Randy Runnells (Elizabeth); her grandchildren: Laurel Daggers, Gene Coltrain, Tom Coltrain (Jessica) and Ian Runnells: great grandchildren: Riley, Layla, Jordon, Everett, and Graham; her brother Newell Graf; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be dearly missed by us all.

A celebration of life will be held Sat. Nov.12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Faith, 798 Canaan Road, Skowhegan. Interment will be at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan with refreshments and social gathering following at the Carrabassett Masonic Lodge, intersection Oak Pond Road and RT. 2, Canaan.
