Lisa Marie Gagne

BRUNSWICK – Lisa Marie Gagne of Brunswick formerly of Oakland, died on Nov. 3, 2022, after an almost three-year courageous battle with cancer. She was received into the arms of the Lord surrounded by her close family whom she loved very much. She was 61 years old.

Lisa was born in Waterville on March 25, 1961, to Normand and Jeannine Bard of Winslow. Lisa, along with her siblings, Peter Bard, Linda Bourque and Andrew Bard grew up and attended Winslow public school.

Lisa was a Junior in High School when she met her true love Randall Lee Gagne after talking on a CB radio. Upon graduation from Winslow High School, Lisa moved to Huntsville, Alabama for six months to attend cosmetology school studying under the prestigious instructor, Ann Bray. Although in a long-distance relationship Lisa and Randy were so head over heels in love with each other that their love continued to flourish.

On July 25, 1981, Lisa married the love of her life, Randall Gagne, at St. John’s Catholic church in Winslow. Lisa and Randy moved to Oak Hill Drive in Oakland in 1981. Shortly thereafter they welcomed their first born, a son, Eric in 1983. In 1986, their second child, a daughter, Ashley was born. The family moved to Heath Street in Oakland, in 1996 where Lisa opened “The Last Tangle” hair salon which was in business for over 25 years. Her career in cosmetology spanned 41 years.

Lisa having had an early interest in music played the guitar and piano, even writing some of her own songs. Lisa enjoyed music so much that she was a cantor at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville, part of the Corpus Christi Parish for over 35 years. Anyone who was lucky enough to hear her sing will remember her gift fondly. To say she had the voice of an angel is an understatement. Lisa loved to make everyone smile and laugh. She cherished time spent with family and friends; she was truly kindhearted and would do anything to make someone happy.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 41 years, Randall Gagne of Brunswick; her son Eric Gagne, his wife Laura and their son Aidan of Wellesley, Mass.; her daughter Ashley Obptande, her husband Jeremy and their sons, Bryce and Burke of Brunswick; her father and mother, Normand and Jeannine Bard of Winslow; her brother Peter Bard, his wife Joanne of Milford, Mass.; her sister Linda Bourque, her husband George of Burnham; her brother, Andrew Bard of Winslow, and loving extended family and friends, who will greatly miss her.

She was predeceased by her twin brother and sister Michael and Michelle Bard, her maternal grandparents Vital and Ernestine Albert, her paternal grandparents Henry and Modeste Bard as well as several aunts and uncles.

A wake and visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Thursday November 17 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday November 18 at 10 a.m., at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville. Lisa will be laid to rest at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed, condolences and memories shared at http://www.gallantfh.com.
