The Massachusetts State Lottery and the Boston Celtics are teaming up once again to recognize and honor local individuals for their heroic actions at each Boston Celtics home game during the 2022-23 season, according to a news release from the Boston Celtics.

Nominations for the 2022-23 Heroes Among Us program are open and ongoing. The lottery and the Celtics are calling upon New Englanders to nominate their peers who have made an impact on their community through their selfless, philanthropic, and sometimes life-saving efforts. To nominate a local hero, visit Celtics.com/NominateAHero.

The Heroes Among Us program is one of the premier community-based award programs in professional sports. Established as an initiative of the Boston Celtics in 1997, Heroes Among Us honors individuals who have made an overwhelming impact on the lives of others. The Heroes Among Us Award is presented to an individual or individuals who, through their unique commitment and humanitarian spirit, have made exceptional and lasting contributions to our community. The Celtics and their fans have saluted the exemplary efforts of these citizens during a special in-game presentation at home games on the legendary parquet floor. To date, more than 1,000 individuals have received the Heroes Among Us Award.

Nominations are open year-round and are currently being considered for the 2022-23 NBA season, which tipped off on Oct. 18.
