Let’s talk about something sensitive for a few seconds. Most of us have experienced being homeless or know of someone who is or has been homeless. We need more low-income housing. Some of us have a home that’s just as bad as being homeless or not in a healthy environment. With rent going up, some of us are struggling with our landlords. Some landlords shouldn’t have property to rent. Some landlords are neglectful and some are slumlords.

Being homeless sometimes seems better because you can get into programs. But who wants to be homeless just to hopefully be able to get into the programs? That’s not how most of us want to live. I think we need to evaluate who we are giving programs to because some of them get into these programs and abuse it and ruin it for others.

It’s hard to get out of poverty. Local news lately has been about housing and homelessness. This is just my opinion from personal experience. Maybe if we sat down and talked about everything maybe we could come up with something to help the situation.
