Republican leaders and pundits are singing the praises of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as he won re-election by 19.4 points. Well, guess what? That was not the biggest gubernatorial election margin in our country; it wasn’t even close. Maura Healey won by 28.6 points in Massachusetts and then Wes Moore won by 27.5 points in Maryland. Why aren’t they singing their praises? Likely because one is a gay woman and the other is a black man. Republicans’ worse nightmares.

Seems the Republican Party believes Gov. DeSantis will be their savior. Well so doesn’t Gov. DeSantis, as his campaign ran an ad stating that “On the eighth day God looked down on his planned paradise and said: ‘I need a protector.’ So God made a fighter.” with black and white video running of Ron DeSantis.

First of all, we don’t live in a theocracy, and second Gov. DeSantis seems to have a messiah complex problem. One other “little” problem: former President Trump will never go quietly off into the night, never.

Does anyone remember Gov. DeSantis berating schoolchildren for wearing masks on stage with him? Is that how God would treat children? Is that the kind of person you want to lead our country?
