Arline M. DeBlois

WINTHROP – Arline M. DeBlois, 86, passed away on Nov. 17, 2022, at Maine General Medical Center, in Augusta. She was supported to the end by her loving family, and comforted by her strong religious beliefs.

Arline was born on July 17, 1936 on Oxford Street in Augusta, to George and Blanche Martin. She graduated from St. Augustine Parochial school in 1951 followed by her graduation from Cony High School in 1955.

Her first job was working at Depositors Trust, working in the consumer credit loan department, where she would meet her future husband, Maynard DeBlois. They married on Sept. 13, 1958 and would go on to have three children, Donna, who passed in 2021, son, Dale and daughter, Pam. Arline had four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Arline and her family were avid campers, who spent many weekends and vacations at Cathedral Pines or Acadia National Park, here in Maine. On many summer weekend days, when not camping, she could be found at the beach on the coast of Maine. Family holidays were always spent at Grammi’s house, with Arline preparing the food. She enjoyed these moments very much.

Maynard and Arline loved to travel and spent many winter days in Myrtle Beach, S.C. later in life. Some of the places they traveled to earlier in life, both internationally as well as stateside included Bermuda, many locations in the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, the Spanish Canary Islands, multiple trips to Hawaii, as well as a long river cruise in France on the Rhone River.

Arline was a very loving mother and grandmother to her family, and could always be counted on to have a big smile when surrounded by her family.

She also kept in contact through the years with her loved “Cony Girls of ’55”, including lunches at the Senator Inn in Augusta, as well as her multiple acquaintances from work. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne, a one-time president, and cherished her friends from the Red Hat Club.

In addition to her loving husband Maynard, Arline is survived by her son, Dale, his wife Trudy, daughter, Pam and her fiancée Stephen; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Maine general for the tremendous care that was provided to Arline during her stay there.

Arline’s life will be celebrated in a memorial mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Western Ave., Winthrop. A private family burial will take place immediately following.
