At its Nov. 10 meeting the Maine Vaccine Board recognized Tonya Philbrick-Labbe of Sidney for her role in promoting and advancing childhood vaccines statewide through Maine’s Universal Childhood Immunization Program and her close collaboration with the board.
Philbrick-Labbe previously led the Maine Immunization Program and the State’s COVID-19 vaccine efforts as the former Senior Health Program Manager for the state, according to a news release from Everett Lamm, MD, FAAP, vice president and chief medical officer, KidsVax, based in Concord, New Hampshire.
The Maine Vaccine Board is public-private collaboration with the Maine CDC that makes it possible for all children to have easy access to all recommended childhood vaccines; all physicians, clinics and hospitals to receive state-supplied vaccines at no charge; and all health plans, insurers, the business community and other payers to participate in one of the most efficient, cost-effective systems in the nation for universally purchasing and distributing childhood vaccines.
Maine Vaccine Board Chair Peter Gore of Brunswick presented Philbrick-Labbe with a commendation on behalf of the board’s directors.
