CHELSEA – David K. Sirabella Sr., 81, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at Maine Medical Center, Portland, following a brief illness. He was born in Millinocket, ME on Jan. 6, 1941, a son of the late Mario J. and Stella (Higgins) Sirabella.
Mr. Sirabella was a 1959 graduate of Brewer High School, was accepted to the University of Maine but ultimately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force out of high school, during which he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He continued to serve in the Maine Air National Guard following being honorably discharged from active duty.
For many years, Mr. Sirabella worked as an analyst for Burrows and then Unisys, providing technical support throughout Maine.
Mr. Sirabella is survived by three sons: David (Treena) Sirabella, Jr. of Germany, Michael Sirabella of Farmington, and Antonio (Liesl) Sirabella of Hallowell; his companion, Sue Kelley of Bath; a brother, Noel (Sandy) Sirabella of Exeter; a sister, Lauri (Jack) Sirabella of Old Saybrook, Conn.; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother, Peter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 22, from 1-4 p.m., at the Governor Hill Mansion, State St., Augusta. A burial will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery earlier that day.
