JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. – Joseph “Jody” M. Fisher, a resident of Jamaica Plain, Mass., passed away on Dec. 15, 2022.
Following two decades as a trucker and fisherman, Jody completed master’s degrees in English and Library and Information Science. He worked as a librarian for 20 years at Boston Public Library and UMass Lowell, and authored Ahab’s Leg, a collection of poems and essays.
Through a 15-year battle with ALS, Jody retained his positivity, abiding intellectual curiosity, and love of music and poetry.
