NORTH MONMOUTH – On the evening of Dec. 13, 2022, our mother (Patricia) took her last breath with her children by her side holding her hands and telling her how much she was loved.

Angels rejoiced as Jesus welcomed her to her eternal home. Her daughter Georgia Ann and other loved ones ran to greet her, never to be separated again.

She spent much of her employed life caring for others, working in nursing homes and providing elderly home health care.

Some of her simple pleasures in life were doing difficult jig saw puzzles, collecting elephant memorabilia, going to bingo, and trying her luck at casinos.

She most enjoyed spending time with her family and was extremely blessed to have seen five generations of descendants.

She was predeceased by parents Floran and Winnifred Strout, sister Beryl Guisti, husband Paul Downing, daughter Georgia Ann Gunning, granddaughter Tamara Towle-Vasile, and great-granddaughter Ryver-lynn Barnes.

She is survived by seven children: Brenda Savage-Mitchell and husband Paul of Augusta, George Savage and wife Louise of Sidney, Debra Savage-Lucas and husband Steve of Sidney, Pamela Tondreau and husband Reggie of Sidney, Angie Stanford and partner Rick Lawson of Monmouth, and Donna Towle of Monmouth.

Three stepchildren: Jeanie Goding-Reed, Kevin and wife Diane Downing, Mark and wife Donna Downing.

Companion Richard Witham of Augusta

Two sisters and a brother: Mary Haskell of Weeks Mills, Sandra Cormier of Texas and brother Lewis Strout; 25 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be 10 a.m., on Dec. 31 at Centerpoint Community Church, 155 West River Road, Waterville, Maine, followed by a gathering at 255 Trafton Road, Oakland, Maine.

She will be laid to rest beside her late husband Paul Downing at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta at 9 a.m., Jan. 4, 2023.

Mom you will forever be in our hearts and memories.
