Have you been vaccinated against this season’s flu?

Maine has seen a surge in cases of influenza in recent weeks, as the virus circulates across the country.

The state recently recorded 3,275 new cases of influenza, a 37% increase in new cases that followed a 39% increase the prior week and a 100% increase the week before that. Maine, which has been categorized as high activity for influenza by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also reported 133 new hospitalizations for influenza in the past week.

Health experts say the flu vaccine, which most insurances will cover the cost of, appears to be a good match for the predominant strain of flu that’s circulating.

But what about you? Have you been vaccinated against this season’s flu? Tell us in the comments below.
