FARMINGDALE – Sherwood H. Richards, 87, passed away at home on Dec. 25, 2022. He was born in Livermore Falls and resided in Farmingdale for the majority of his life.

He worked for Maine State DOT for 38 years and served in the Maine Army National Guard for 22 years. He loved being in the outdoors, camping, hunting and was an exceptional photographer, working for a time for the Kennebec Journal. He was also known for always “tinkering” on something!

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dawn Richards; his daughter Karen Swan of Chesterville and her husband Bill, his son David Richards and his wife Holly Flick Richards of New Gloucester, and his son Alan Richards of Wayne; four grandchildren, Nicole and Mitch Swan and Jacob and Will Richards; one great-granddaughter Daphne Swan. Also surviving are his sister Joyce Parker of Portland, and sister-in-law Angie Richards of Van Hornsville, N.Y.

Sherwood was predeceased by his mother Frances Richards, his father Vance Richards; and his brother Vance “Jim” Richards.
