Stephanie Adele Curless

GARDINER – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephanie Adele Curless on New Year’s Day 2023. Stephanie had a presence that could not be denied. She was deeply beautiful and generous, and a fierce defender of those she loved.

Stephanie adored music and adventure. She had a passion for helping people and animals and poured her energy into rescuing creatures great and small. She was instrumental in helping reopen The Seagull Shop at Pemaquid Point. Most of all, she loved her son, Ashton.

Sadly, after years of trying to live her best life, Stephanie finally succumbed to substance use disorder. She will remain vibrant in our memory and leaves us all better for having loved her. She will be profoundly missed.

Stephanie is survived by her son Ashton Glockler; her parents Ruth M. Johnson and husband Charles Johnson, Richard W. Curless Jr and wife Tina Curless; sisters and brothers, Katie Frend, Dorothy O’Keefe, Ian Curless, Asheley Curless-King, and Ryan Curless; her grandmothers; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and her close friends Dave Dow, Erik Glockler and Brook Cotter.

We know that she is now at peace in the arms of those who have gone before her. We love you Stephanie.

A private celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family at http://www.staplesfuneralhome.com
