SIDNEY — Maine Arts Academy, a free public charter school, is accepting registrations for grades 9-12 for the 2023-24 school year.
Enrollment is open until Friday, March 31, to any student residing in the state.
To complete and submit the enrollment form, visit maineartsacademy.org. If more forms are received than space available, a lottery will be held at 3 p.m. March 31 in Alumni Hall to determine the initial seat offers.
If a lottery is not necessary, enrollment will continue to be open, until all available seats are filled.
The academy serves students from more 80 towns. It offers a rigorous academic and arts curriculum and busing to all students, according to a news release from Diane Manter, admissions director.
For more information, visit its website or contact Manter at 207-618-8908, ext. 901, or [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
