AUGUSTA – Bernadette P. Winters, 93, passed away Dec. 21, 2022 at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida with her loving great-granddaughter, Jacinta Devlin, by her side.

She was born June 15, 1929. Bernadette grew up in Caswell Plantation until the age of 12 when her family moved to Augusta where she attended school locally.

She was married to Richard R. Thibodeau in 1947 and had a family of four with daughters, Donna, Paulette, Margo, and son, Raymond. Her husband, Richard, died in 1960. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church all her life until her move to Florida in March 2022.

She is survived by her daughters Paulette Crabtree, of Florida and Margo Beaulieu and her husband Wilfred, of Chelsea; along with her eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving, her sister, Dorothy Horne of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Avenue, Augusta. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manchester.
