Darlene Darolyn (Sinclair) Arnold

CORNVILLE – Darlene Darolyn (Sinclair) Arnold, 73, passed away Jan. 4, 2023, at Cedar Ridge in Skowhegan. She was born Jan. 17, 1949, in Skowhegan, the daughter of Benjamin Orwood and Hildreth Opal (Davis) Sinclair.

She was educated in the schools of Skowhegan and graduated from Skowhegan Area High School, class of 1967 and Skowhegan Business School in 1968. On Oct. 30, 1987, she married George Arnold Jr. at the Skowhegan Church of the Nazarene. Through her working career she was employed at several jobs including, waitressing at Grants during the late 60s, Ward Clerk at Redington-Fairview General Hospital, Shelter Group 1996-1989, as a receptionist/clerk, delivered newspapers, after that until working at A.S. and C.B. Gould and Sons as a secretary/clerical for fourteen and a half years until her retirement.

Darlene was a member of the Skowhegan Church of the Nazarene until 2005 when she began to attend Fairfield Church of the Nazarene where she had been a member since 2007. She taught Sunday School and Bible quizzing for children, served on the church board, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved family get togethers.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 35 years, George Arnold Jr. of Cornville; children, Robert McGowan Jr. of Skowhegan, Ryan McGowan and wife Tiffany of Harmony, Broc McGowan and wife Carissa of Cornville; step sons, Timothy Arnold of Iowa City, Iowa, Jonathan Arnold and wife Nadia of Melrose, Massachusetts; grandchildren Sage, Courtney, Kaylee, Abigail, Chase, Ethan and Lyrix McGowan, Teddy, Simon and Gideon Arnold; 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene.
