Should lawmakers pass a bill making gun access more difficult for people who are prohibited from possessing firearms?

Compromise legislation that would make gun access more difficult for people who are prohibited from possessing firearms is among several proposals being debated at the State House as lawmakers consider various gun bills.

The competing bills proposed by both parties would either strengthen the rights of firearm owners or restrict access.

Lawmakers are debating the bills this spring in the wake of mass shootings in the United States, including recent deadly rampages in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and in Maine.

But what do you think? Should lawmakers pass a bill making gun access more difficult for people who are prohibited from possessing firearms? Tell us in the poll and in the comments below.
